Thanks Alain. They will be released when the official model is released and Wellis has produced his magic with the cockpit interiors.

André19, excellent work there.

Steve
Thanks Steve. Your numerous great looking paints inspired me to find the time to do a few.

Great early scheme liveries; really beautiful work Andre
Thanks Milton. Without your fantastic model there would be nothing.

you are welcome, and excellent work Andre! appears to be an example of the same squadron I've done one for (24 sqn) but I like yours better! I'll have to redo mine...after I am fully done with the VC..
Thanks Wellis. Looking forward to your version of the 24 Sqn Boston. The more choices we have the better.

Douglas A20 Havoc 2D panels

Hallo Friends,

Milton kindly provided me with a lot of docs, I just begin to read.
There are a lot of variants in the panel layouts.
Now I wonder what to do - just staying on the last variant or splitting in two variants.
one, based on Gaucho_59's bmp, for the early versions of the Boston. And one based on the photo for
the Havocs and Nighthawks.
It is not only the question of the work to do, but also of time. My breat paying job lets me poor spare time.
On the other hand I believe that most of us will fly in todays envirement, so the more modern vatiant will do the job.
What do you think about?

Papi, I run into the same questions when deciding what cockpit variant to model. I finally decide on a combination of things then after the VC is done, make a 2D panel from a screen capture of the VC.

I don't think it matters much as long as you have all the basic functions in place and in generally the same location as the VC functions.

Thanks

Gauges

Papi,
Thanks for your hard work making this panel available...:applause:
Just as a heads-up 5 gauges are non functioning in FSX, I wouldn't want you get to get ambushed later on.

Much appreciated...

Hallo Milton, Hallo Seahawk72s,

at first thank you for your answer Milton, so I think that I will defintively forget the very first one and continueon the evolution of the last version, I will try to find the best compromise between all the versions and the VC.
For the moment the radio gauges worries me a bit - but just a question of time.
And than when I will have the final ac I will see for the fuel selector gauges as for the moment I doesn't find suitable gauges for the A20.
I believe that for you it is same as for me, every time I think allright now it is done it is finished I find another detail what is rong or what can be done better.
Seahawk, please tell me which gauges will not operate in FSX. As on my old pc FSX do not run and I would not have the space for it So if you tell me what gauges do make problems I will try to find a solution. Sorry but I' m not sure to understand the last tense of your message.
Slowly slowly the panel grows.

Well I've got all former Vichy markings painted over on this one, and have updated and generally messed around with 5 others.

Papi,

I just got around to downloading your panel today. I want suggest that you really simplify your releases so they are much smaller.

You are releasing a 2D panel for an incomplete aircraft and a lot of what is in there is temporary, or placeholders, not cleaned up for a release. Remember my release was a "painter's release" not for general consumption.

In doing that for this WIP package, much of it will change, and you are releasing a lot of megabytes that are not used in your panel.

For the panel you are sharing, you should only release the parts that you want to share, not a complete panel package.

I would do it this way.

1) Populate your panel, cfg and package with whatever gauges you use.
2) Put all your gauges in a new folder called Papi.
3) All your gauge references should be from that new Papi folder.
4) Distribute only the parts of the panel.cfg needed to support your panel.
5) Instruct the user how to insert your panel changes into an existing panel.cfg
6) Be sure to credit all original gauge owners for the gauges you used.

In this approach, your package would be very small and you would not run the risk of people overlaying newer folders and gauges of the same name in a future release of ours. This is less risky and would create less confusion for others.

I hope this helps.

Douglas A20 Havoc 2D panel

Good morning Milton, good morning Seahawk,

normaly I should sleep now bfore to go to work for 17:00.
Milton, I titled my panels as WIP to significate that it is not finished and in the readme I believe that I mentionned that the final panel would only be finished when the ac would be published as final release.
I am conscient that there will be a lot of clean up to be done and of course all the credits etc.
For Seahawk and perhaps some other FSX users I join a simply update which should make all operational now in FSX also.
I delated the digital read outs for the ap heading and altitude, as when you click on the new added knobs there will be a read out.
There will be no others versions of this panel till the final release to match with the advices Milton did.
I just did this panel as experiance to be able to fly this really exceptional plane done By Milton with a panel which would be a bit closer.
Yours
Papi

Today I will mainly be playing with this one.

You've certainly done a lot of excellent paints for this model so far... I have all downloaded, but I'm still flying the WIP version. When a beta, or even the final release shows up, maybe it'll have your brushwork included . I can always add the skins to the model too. As I stated before, the Russian paint looks like it was made for the A20.

So far I released a soviet C without guns, USAAF C model with guns, a couple of French and a G model soviet.
These releases are all still very much WIP and the finished versions will be uploaded once the completed model is released too the public, along with all my other schemes.

Here is a shot of Soviet white 2, G model in it's current state.
