A-4E Skyhawk VA-12 Flying Ubangis USS F.D. Roosevelt Westpac 1966
This repaint represents Douglas A-4E Skyhawk (BuNo 150001) of USN Attack Squadron VA-12, Flying Ubangis, as it appeared on their only cruise with the A-4E, WestPac June 1966 thru February 1967 as part of Carrier Air Wing 1 aboard USS F. D. Roosevelt (CVA-42). During this cruise VA-12 A-4Es also retained the forward fuselage position of the US Star and Bar similar to the A-4C. After the end of this WestPac cruise VA-12 reverted back to the A-4C at their home port of NAS Cecil Field. Model and Paint kit by Virtavia. Repaint by Steve Bryant, October 2014.
