Skin for Aeroplane Heaven's great Me109E, flown by Lieutnant Rudolf Rothenfelder, 9./JG2, Le Havre/Octeville, September 1940. Damage textures are included, as well as a new pilot figure in a grey flight suit and faded yellow life vest.
The yellow noses began to appear by the end of August, 1940. The original hand applied dopple finish sometimes bled through the new yellow paint. The 9 staffel Stechmuecke or "Gnat" badge was designed by "Rudy" Rothenfelder who received a few days off for his efforts.
No record of Rudolf Rothenfelder total victory count was found in my research. One source indicated he survived the war having served in JG2 most of his career.
