• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

AN/APN-4 LORAN Gauge.

AN/APN-4 LORAN Gauge. 1

No permission to download
FS2004/FSX/P3D LORAN (LOng RAnge Navigation) gauge.

Long before GPS, a method was developed to be able to navigate on long overwater flights without the issues of weather and visibility involved with celestial navigation. LORAN was originally used during WWII to assist the Allies in bombing raids and in transport duties. It was later used by the airlines to navigate across the oceans. This gauge from CalClassic simulates the operation of the AN/APN-4 instrument of WWII vintage, complete with peak alignment and reading the time delay values from the oscilloscope screen. It uses the station pairs included on the coverage map from 1954, but can be used in any era from WWII to around 1975. Installation instructions include adding the gauge to the JBK DC-6, CalClassic DC-6 and DC-7, and the Manfred Jahn L-749 Constellation, L-1049G Super Constellation, and the L-1649A Starliner 4.0.

Instructions are also included to add the gauge to any other panel.
