Acwai P-38H Goodrich repaint for CFS2 by UncleTgt
This is a repaint for the P-38H Lightning made by Acwai for CFS 2.
The texture is:
100 A P-38H-5 of 459FS operating from Chittagong, India late May 1944. Pilot was Lt Burdette Goodrich.
There is only one B & W photo of a P-38H painted with the "twin Dragon" motif (Frances Rebel). That said, the 459th FS flew mixed P-38H & J formations on operations until the autumn of 1944, & it is known that Goodrich only ever flew P-38H's before getting shotdown during the "Oscar Ambush" mission of 6th JUne 1944, along with Wally Duke, who was flying a P-38J. I think it unlikely they wouldn't have made some effort to depict the Twin Dragon paint on the H models that were still being used on operations.
THe only photo of Goodrich is a close up under the "Duffy" named P-38, & it's known he gained 4 of his 5 victories flying "100" (the remaining 1/2 kill was a ki-44 Tojo shared with Wally Duke on 23 April 1944), so I chose to depict it as having Twin Dragon paint.
After crashlanding his P-38 on 6 June, Goodrich was captured & became a POW at Rangoon jail, where he died on 1st January 1945.
To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS 2 install.
