his is a repaint of Team Strat's superb KC-97 to represent KC-97F-17-BO 51-0363 of the 376th ARS based at Barksdale AFB, LA in 1960. In March 1960, while on rotation to Stephenville-Edward Harmon AFB in Newfoundland, Canada, and flying to MacDill AFB, FL, 363 suffered engine failure and ditched 50 miles west of Cape Canaveral. The aircraft sank in 300 ft. of water with the loss of three lives, but was discovered by a team of divers in 2015; her Arctic Red paint was still visible on the nose. The repaint is an attempt to recreate for the dive team, how she would have looked before she crashed and was done by request from one of the dive team, Michael Barnette and is for the team. The only significant variation is that the -F model was not equipped with wing tanks.
