This repaint represents Eastern Airlines DC-3 N15567 and is based on a 1949 B/W in flight photo. According to AIRHISTORY N15567 originally began construction by Douglas Aircraft as a DC-3 (MSN 6342) for Delta Airlines (NC30045). However, the USAAF took delivery on 31 December, 1942 as (DC-3) C-49J S/N 43-1986. According to Jack Baugher’s site it served in the Air Transport Command until 1945 when it was leased and later purchased by Eastern Air Lines, registered as N15567.
