T-944 is the 3rd version of the 747 Supertanker. The largest of the VLAT category aircraft in aerial firefighting. The 747 Supertanker is capable of carrying 19,600 US gallons of fire retardant or water. The large size of the 747 Supertanker and it's complex tank have caused it problems over the years, but in recent years. The newest version is getting more use. More agencies are using it across the fire prone US' western states and attacking the large fires in Brazil that burned through the Amazon River Basin in 2019. Model linked below offsite.
