On September 2, 1951, Marine Helicopter Transport Squadron (HMR) 161 arrived in Korea with 15 HRS-1 helicopters. The first practical utility helicopter, the HRS-1 was built to carry eight troops or 1,500 pounds of equipment and cruised at 100 mph.
Included are all 15 helicopters, HR-1 through HR-15, with appropriate markings and Bureau Numbers. Included also are two variations of HR-69, that was a renumbered HR-6 with many parts of the crashed HR-9. And a special Christmas paint scheme. In December 1951, HR-69 was painted for Christmas to deliver gifts to Marines and Korean locals in the area of operations.
