Hurricane Mk.I L1708 271, No.1 Sqn South African Air Force, Waterkloof Air Station, 7th March 1939

Hurricane Mk.I L1708, SAAF serial 271, was the first Hurricane in South Africa, arriving by ship in Durban in February 1939 in company with L1710 and L1711. After assembly, they were handed over to No.1 Squadron SAAF at Waterkloof Air Station on 7th March 1939.
