This is a repaint for the beautiful Aeroplane Heaven/Just Flight Spitfire Mk IX as you will find it in the Mid-war Merlin set. You need to have a legal copy of this set to be able to use this repaint. The repaint depicts Spitfire 79 from the Israeli Air Force. In 1952 the IAF was able to purchase 35 Spitfires and 20 spare and ex-Italian Air Force engines. These Spitfires were easy to recognise because of the anti glare panel. The 79 belonged to 107 "Lion's Head' Squadron. Not to be confused with the current 107 squadron, which are the 'Knights of the orange tail'.
