IS4G Bf 109E4 Gottschalk

IS4G Bf 109E4 Gottschalk 2024-05-15

This is a repaint of the IS4G BF-109E4- an unusual Emil flown by Feldwebel Werner Gottschalk of 6/LG2. His plane was damaged by anti aircraft fire during the Luftwaffe's airfield attack phase and he managed to bring it down near Hawkinge aerodrome & became a POW. The plane was in an unusual RLM02 and a non standard dark grey with a white rudder and wingtips, The white areas were painted over a previous yellow coat and this was showing through. There is some conjecture that the Luftwaffe may have 'borrowed' some 'Panzer Grey' from armoured units in their vicinity. I particularly liked the cat emblem too. I also had a go at repainting the pilot to look more Euro so you can put the 'pilota' texture into other IS4G 109E's. I feel that this IS4G 109E is a good Emil model even though it is rather old. At the time of release it was very well received and it has the rather quirky ability to display its framework and innards with keypress ShiftH. I have used the German Special markings by RAF Loke from the Simmers Paintshop site, a fantastic reference site for repainters. The profile of the plane was discovered at Wings Palette.
