• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

JBK Martin 130 for CFS2 by UncleTgt

This is a conversion of Jens B. Kristensen's Martin 130 Clipper for CFS 2. Due to the complex nature of the revision this is uploaded as a complete aircraft, but the design credits lie with all of the various creators, mainly Jens B. Kristensen.

The original model has been converted for use in CFS 2, with g_lightstates & crashchecks removed, so will work in both Free Flight and Quick Combat. Both glossy & dull mdls are supplied to better depict the polished alum & later US Navy painted finished used by these aircaraft.

A new airfile has been developed, & the dp file also has been developed with more visible damage effects. The textures have been redrawn, & depict all 3 clippers at different times throughout their active service.

The textures supplied are: NC-14714 Hawai Clipper. An impression of her appearance just prior to her loss in July 1938.

NC-14715 Philippine Clipper. How she would have looked at Wake Atoll, 8th December 1941.

NC-14715 Philippine Clipper. How she is reported to have been painted for use as US Navy transport, January 1943.

NC-14716 China Clipper. Depicted as she appeared at the start of regular trans-Pacific service, January 1937.

NC-14716 China Clipper. My impression of how she may have been painted in US Navy transport service just prior to her loss in January 1945.

The 2D panel bitmap is brand new and has been made WIN 7+ friendly. There are some customised fixed window views to enjoy!

Sounds are not included, instead being aliased to the stock B24D Liberator. This is to keep the size of the download manageable.

The dp file makes use of kelticheart's exhaust effects.

Water Spray effects are also included. These are a tweaked version of one of Bill Kestell's excellent waterspray effects, respositioned to fit the Martin 130 hull & floats & renamed.

To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS 2 install.

Thanks to: Jens B. Kristensen for a great aircraft.

Allen for the inspiration for the fixed window views.

Allen for his DOSmdlc_2, making shine & mdl size changes possible in WIN7+.

Martin Wright for so many useful tools, in this case in particular MDLmat allowing aircraft model material transparency & colour changes.

Kelticheart for his exhaust effects, & inspiration for the propeller bitmaps.

This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions.
