Usio's IJN Kagero. A "Kagero" class Destroyer, launched Sep 1938, commissioned Nov 1939. In the Kuriles at Pearl Harbour, then to Rabaul, back to Yokosuka the to the DEI. In the Indian Ocean raid, then to Saipan, Midway, the Aleutians before becoming part of the "Tokyo Express" in the Solomons. On 7 May 1943, Kagero was disabled by a mine while leaving Vila. She was then attacked by allied aircraft and sank SW of Rendova.
