Compagnie Aero Aricaine was formed in 1945 as the air transport division of Societe Africaine des Transports Tropicaux (SATT). SATT had been formed in 1933 to provide transport by rail and roads across the Sahara to terminals in the French colonies of West and Equatorial Africa. Nice was also served. Aero Africaine linked these coastal cities with a fleet of nine lodestars. Six trans-Sahara services were operated monthly. Aero Africaine ceased operating during the 1950's.

To Societe Africaine Des Transports Tropicaux (SATT) on 22 January 1948 and based at Alger / Houari Boumediene. In 1951 to United States as N51605, N94549 and at some time XA-SEX.
