• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

his is a repaint only for the Flight Replicas Bf-109G. This aircraft was fully restored to flying condition and operated for several years at Duxford and unlike every other flying 109G, Black 6 is a real "Augsburg Eagle". The aircraft was built in Leipzig in 1942 and saw brief service with JG 77 in Libya, flown by Lt. Heinz Ludemann. The aircraft, having been grounded due to damage, was captured by Bobby Gibbes and the RAAF with the allied push westward. It was Bobby Gibbes' plan to fly it back to Australia as a war prize but being that it was the first captured G model orders had it sent to Britain for RAF evaluation. The aircraft then was put into storage after the war, being brought out to the public from time to time - every September for Battle of Britain day. In 1991 it flew for the first time again since 1945. In 1997, while performing at Duxford, it was involved in an off-airport ground loop which caused major damage to the airplane but thankfully the pilot survived with very little injury. The aircraft was fully restored following the accident and now can be seen at the RAF Museum, Hendon.
