KM Tirpitz 1941E being finished in the Wilhelmshaven shipyard. The Tirpitz had been given this camouflage to protect it from RAF bombing.
KM Tirpitz 1941L two-tone medium gray and dark gray camouflage; the green markings on the superstructures and turrets were added upon its arrival in Norway in February 1941

Port and starboard camouflage: complex geometric pattern of gray and light green in Norway, based in Trondheimfjord. Sport-palace and Rosselsprung operations against convoys PQ12 and PQ17.
In reality, these operations were all aborted because the Royal Navy escorts were too aggressive (battleships King George V, Duke of York, Renown, and Washington alternating and aircraft carrier Victorious.
