This is a repaint of the outstanding Warbirdsim F-51D post-war Mustang, to represent 44-72986, a P-51D-25-NA allocated to the 187th Fighter Squadron, Wyoming Air National Guard. Assigned to the 86th Fighter Wing, it was based at Buckley Field, Colorado as part of the Continental Air Command 4th Air Force. Depicted as it appeared in 1948/49 during the transition from the USAAF to the USAF. Taken from a black-and-white photo, the colours are a best guess.
