The second L subclass was armed with three 4.7inch dual purpose mounts in closed turrets.
They served in Force H of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean Fleet of Alexandria.

HMS Laforey 1941 G99 camouflage two-tone very dark grey and light grey;
HMS Laforey 1942 camouflage disruptive black dark grey blue white, torpedoed by a German submarine on 30 03 1944 off Sicily;
HMS Lightning 1942 G55 torpedoed by an Italian MTB on 12 03 1943;
HMS Lookout 1941 G32 disruptive camouflage black medium grey blue white background;
HMS Loyal G15 1942 light grey blue on white background, mined off Italy on 12 10 1944 total loss.
