The Class 34 Zerstorer ships in 1939-1940 were painted medium gray, the hull numbers having been removed upon the outbreak of war.
After 1942, the survivors received more or less elaborate camouflage in two or three shades of gray.
They participated in operations in Norway and on the French coast (Operation Cerberus).
In 1944, they were in the Baltic.
