• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

This is a repaint of the excellent SSW Republic F-84F Thunderstreak to represent an F-84F-49-RE, 52-6616 'Boots IV' of the 110th Fighter Squadron, 131st Fighter Wing, Missouri ANG. During the 1961/2 Berlin Wall crisis this unit was deployed to Toul-Rosieres AB in France and the repaint depicts the aircraft as it appeared then. Unusually for the time, many 110th FS aircraft carried names. It also carries the unit commander's stripes, reflected in the name on the left-hand canopy rail, Maj. John D. Connaghan. The crew chief, is given as T/Sgt Joe Dubuque who served with the 110th, though whether he crewed this particular aircraft is not known. No record of its fate exists; it last served with the 164th TFS, Ohio ANG and most probably ended up at AMARC where it was scrapped.
