Re-paint of ATL-98 Carvair G-AXAI in 1970 British Air Ferries livery.
Built in Santa Monica as C-54B-5-DO c/n 18342, USAAF serial 43-17142 in 1944, this aircraft was converted to the seventeenth Carvair in 1964. It was in storage for five years before it entered service for British Air Ferries (BAF) from 1969 until 1975. After service for several other operators in France, Hawaii and Florida it was finally broken up in 1993 and parts were salvaged for spares.
