This repaint represents Grumman F9F-5 Panther, BuNo 125971 of VF-781, side number 107D, aboard USS Oriskany, 1952-53. With apologies to gradyhappyg who provided us with his excellent repaint of a VF-781 bird. This is my take on an F9F-5 from the same squadron, different aircraft, with a variation on the squadron graphics (nose and tip tanks), and a few other subtle differences in the "standard" markings between aircraft.
