• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

[FONT=verdana, sans-serif]File Description:
Tempelhof airport was a U.S. Air Force airbase located in the U.S. sector of occupied Berlin. In 1962 it was served mainly by MATS, Pan Am, BEA and various charters. Lufthansa was forbidden to fly there until 1991. To reach Tempelhof it was mandated to fly through the Berlin air corridors (see map jpeg) which were only 20 miles wide, with a minium altitude of 3000' and a maximum of 10,000'. Templehof was ringed by large apartment buildings on all sides, and it was the main focus of the famed 1948 to 1949 Berlin airlift. It is slated to be closed at the end of this month. The terminal building has been created in GMAX and also adds many more details including the famous double deck buses, using both GMAX and library objects.
