'2009 Indycar Champion - Dario Franchitti'

Note the results:

In a CAUTIONLESS race, Milka Duno finished ahead of both Danica Patrick & Sarah Fischer.....:monkies:

Good to see another Scot carrying on the driving tradition, even if your average man-in-the-street here has never heard of him !

Great week as usual.
All the usual suspects from my circle of friends turned up. We put in some serious 'Bench Racing' and enjoyed plenty of catching up.
A good result all round, as I'm neither Ford of Holden supporter.
Well deserved win for GT and WD (Rhiannon is a hottie BTW!!!) and an equally well earned top five for BOC, GRM, Sprintgas (Murphy didn't hit ANYONE!) and 888, shame about the drive through but chit happens.

Best sounding cars in the 1000 line up were the Perkins prepped 'Kelly' foursome.
Not as good as the Lambos in the GT events but close.
I miss the Porsche Cup cars but the GT series gets better and better, so that was good.

We watched the first hour or so from Reid Park as usual.....the very quick drivers were just brilliant and my better half made some interesting observations (from a 'Medical' point of view!) on the probable dimensions of certain peoples testicles! Weather was all over the place from Thursday at the circuit and earlier in the week on the road to Bathurst.
FWIW it was as cold as a Witch's Tit up top all four days.
Wandered down to the dipper for a couple of hours and on to Forest Elbow, then back down to the pits for lunch and the finish.
Worth the cold and the drive up despite the interruptions (pulled over six times by the Federales who only wanted a 'look' at the GT40R!!!!!).
On the advice of one of the Federales we left at 0400 Monday and managed to post some very quick runs without getting busted.
Under nine hours to make it from the 'Old Victoria' to Blackburn ..... :jump:

We'll watch the TV coverage during the next few days, see what we 'missed'.
Anyone who is a 'Bathurst Virgin' should make the effort to get there at least once, you might see more on TV but being there at least one time is a 'must'!

And a PS: The FPR 'PR Person' arranged a nice slot for the GT40R in their hospitality area.......... generated more interest than the FPR entrants!!
And their catering was really good.
That car gets us into some choice positions, as well as collecting all the 'Grid Grommets' posing on it and around it ......... note to self, leave Sofie at home next year!!!

Time to catch up on some zeds, been a very long week.
We leave for Philip Island and the MotoGP this Thursday, another lost weekend!:jump:

Top 5 for 2009 are as follows:

1) Dario Franchitti

2) Scott Dixon

3) Ryan Briscoe

4) Helio Castroneves

5) Danica Patrick...(Who incidently beat out both Tony Kanaan & Marco Andretti)..
