Aeroplane Heaven Lancaster available!

Just putting this here in case @jocko417 picks this up. :) Some nice post-war RCAF schemes!

That would have been the one for me! I don't know why, but I find demilitarized heavies in post-WW2 service very interesting. In some cases, I actually prefer them to the combat ones. Aeroplane Heaven mentioned that they could do a native MSFS2024 version of their Lancaster - I wonder if they might, instead, divert their energies towards the modified RCAF Lanc in your picture.

This morning I downloaded the Lanc from ORBX and it installed it in both sims? Even though the website says do not install in 2024. Well gents, I am happy to report I had no issues with it in 2024 and it flies very well. It's a super piece of work. Paint Kit please!

I found a problem with the fuel gauges. I loaded both port and starboard no1 tanks to 100%. The gauges show inboard Starboard en no2 Port filled.

It's a keeper.

Frame rates are solid for me in FS2024, but I'm using a 4090, so I have a stupid video card. :)

Question for the Lancaster experts: Given how often missions were flown at night, how did they see the instruments? Flashlight? Can’t find instrument lighing controls in the manual or the panels.

A few shots... Posting more in the Screenshots thread.

@DennyA what's the scenery in that second shot?

The present model is only the MkI/III, so a repaint will never be authentic...

Yeah, I'm totally fine with that. Heck, I'd accept a cool post-war Avro Lincoln livery on the Lancaster. :) There's always an element of imagination and make-believe with flight simming, and I can accept the turrets and other differences as I cruise over Hamilton, Ontario in my Canadian Lanc. :)

Understand. Not worried about down to the rivet authenticity...Would REALLY love to see AH do a Mosquito - especially a PR- variant!

Same. I've been flying Lagaffe's awesome Champ with @Killbilly's awesome liveries. Completely fictional, but they look great and are fun to fly in. It'd be the same with a post-war RCAF Lancaster. And yeah, add my vote for a Mossie!

@DennyA what's the scenery in that second shot?

It's "RAF Bardney 1945," freeware from Flightsim.to. Links to that and the Coningsby scenery are at the top of the post I linked in the Screenshot thread. Lots of static Lancasters there. It's a great scenery overall. All it really needs is an update of the too-clean taxiway textures, but even without that it's a good place to base from with this plane!
