AI in P3D

I'm just getting started with P3D, and so far my only real complaint is the lack of AI traffic. The boats and carriers bgl files are the same size as the ones in FSX, and the aircraft one is very close, so is it possible simply to drag and drop into P3D the default FSX aircraft which are used in the AI traffic? Will they show up? if not, then what is the best way to get some AI traffic to appear?
 
I would try World-of-AI. Though designed for FSX I have been using it in P3D for years. It's free and you can install just a couple of airlines first to see if you like it.

Yes that will work but you will also need to copy over the traffic bgl
 
Thank you both. That's just what I wanted to know. Can you tell me whether the payware Traffic360 or freeware from Orbx will work, obviously redirecting it to P3D rather than FSX, please?
 
Be sure to use only the FSX packages from World of AI. Any FS9 traffic files will keep all traffic from showing. I think that holds true with P3D. I started with Ultimate Traffic many years ago and have since been using my own payware and freeware concoction. I really can't recommend Ultimate Traffic 2 since it appears they didn't mip map the textures, which has been known to decrease frame rates or cause stuttering. I've seen other payware traffic packages and the models look pretty bad. But if that isn't a concern it may be an option. There is also a free program called fsx_ga-traffic_releasecandidate2 which will generate GA traffic all over the world. But you need AI GA models: http://htai-models.com/downloads.html
 
I used the aifp software to convert all woai plans.

The latest version of AIFP finds and installs to p3d as well.

Tho this software required patience to learn, it makes installing massive fleet updates from the alpha India group-- like aal, ual , klm, etc-- considerably easier.

I have used AIG flight plans to update every thing I got from WOAI

All the ai that flew in my fsx install fly good and look good... For ai....:jump:
