I have been plagued by problems in installing Rise of Flight. Can anyone recommend an alternative fcs that will play well on Windows 7

you might try First Eagles2 by Thirdwire...not as good in the eye candy dept. but still a good straight forward WW1 air combat sim IMHO.

Thanks for the lead. I downloaded it and was relieved when it installed smoothly. Looks interesting with good sound. Having just installed a new video card I'm glad to have something to give it a workout. Thanks again.

The verdict is out. No candy. Wprse still despite the proliferation of graphic options and resolutions my Radeon, which flies low over full scenery London in FSX without a stutter, could not find a a setting except at the lowest resolutions that didn't give a broken picture even with the still shots. Worse Win 7 finally gave up the ghost and I had to pull the plug on. At least it was cheap. As they say you get what you pay for.

If you want to create your own version of WWI you can also install CFS2 and add planes and sceneries from this site http://aerocrate.com/home.html.

There are more planes and sceneries available as well.

Send me your Email I will send you as much as I can.

You can join the CFS2 forum and we will teach you how to install it all.

Its a lot of fun.:wiggle:
