Shame about Casey, rumor has it that he was not prepared to follow a 'team directive' regarding the positions of the 'regular' riders!
He's almost certain to return for the Australian MotoGP at Phillip Island!!!!:triumphant:

"Two-time MotoGP champion Casey Stoner rejected an offer from Ducati to make a wildcard entry in this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix, according to reports in the Italian media.
Stoner made his latest test appearance for Ducati in the recent Red Bull Ring test, where the manufacturer dominated the timesheets and the former champion was in the top four on each day.
According to reports in Gazzetta Dello Sport in Italy, Ducati applied for a wildcard entry for Stoner for the race, but it will instead run a third factory bike for test rider Michele Pirro after the Australian turned down the opportunity.
Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi said: "The way I have got to know Casey over these months, his choice has not surprised me.
"However - speaking as a fan - I would have loved seeing a champion like him returning to the track.
"Had he chosen to race, he could have fought for the podium. And I mean any step of the podium.
"Had he asked us to race, we would have obviously replied positively, but he has always appeared reluctant at that prospect."

While we were highly impressed but unsurprised by terrific fight for victory, Jorge put in an epic ride and Marquez a gritty but smart race.

Australian coverage is limited to Foxtel (complete but costs about A$60.00 per month!) or just the MotoGP race punctuated by mass 'Commercials' on FTA Network 10.
Much as I detest Pay TV I finally gave in as they ('Fuxtel') have taken up 99% of all Motorsport coverage Down Under.

TWC (or whatever the new name is) has BEIN Sports that has all my 2-wheeled racing coverage (MotoGP, WSBK, Moto America), although I've had the dvr set up and got some watch soccer games. Velocity covered the IOM TT as usual.

Qualifying was more action packed at the end of the session. As Duc rider and fan, I'll take the win even if I am not a fan of the rider.

I'm inclined to agree re the win, but I'm not that enthusiastic about either rider!
Then again, 'Crazy Joe' has a personality, unlike Dovi.
My Duke(s) are feeling a little overlooked as my KTM RC8-R is a cracker at track days, but the 916 and 996 remain my go to bikes for sunny Sunday rides.
Looking forward to the competition debut of the KTM RC-16 next year just the same, not impressed with their rider pairing however.
