I just bought a book titled Allied Aircraft Piston Engines of World War II by Graham White. It is very interesting. It explains how alot of things work like the two stage, two speed super charger on the later Merlins and the sleeve valve on the Bristol and Napier Sapre engines. Does any one know if there is a similar book for German and Italian piston engines?
