Boomers balmy bounces

Leg 13 Frans Kaisiepo to Sorong Mainland

Completely uneventful flight, weather was severe clear & I had a nice 24kt tailwind at altitude nearly exactly on my tail so the DR course I set was nearly perfect.

I did do the overhaul on the engine so she was running good but the intercooler still seemed hotter than it should be so I kept my MP at 40in.

Leg 14 Sorong Mainland to Naha

Third time is a charm... Yeah I had to fly this leg 3 times. 1st time I stalled the Jug at about 15ft. The runway isnt very long & the trees are tall at both ends so came in just above stall speed at tree top level. Didnt work out so well for me as you can imagine. I gotta admit I laughed. This was my 1st crash of the race & laughed at my own self confident foolishness.
2nd time FSX crashed just as I was starting my decent. That one ticked me off. FSX on this new rig has been extremely stable. Not sure why it happened but it was only my 2nd FSX crash on the new PC.

3rd flight went off without a hitch. Weather was again sever clear so I set a DR course & was pleased with the lack of clouds. The last 1/2 of the flight being over water I was concered about missing the island entirely if I had to contend with clouds. As it was I could see it when I was about 150mi away & altered course to meet it.

No screen shots this time, figured y'all have already seen my Thunderbolt from every decent angle & default FSX leaves much to the imagination.

I got the error again for adding 1 gal of fuel. Sure would like to know what is causing that...

Hey Bob. You do need to post the duenna for the mishap flight WA1A - WAMH. The one where you crashed due to trees does count against the total race time. The one where the computer crashed does not.

Hey Paul,

I apologize I didn't even consider that & didn't save the file. Is it OK to just double the flight time on WA1A-WAMH? I flew them identically. I will make sure to post any crashes on future races.

Leg 15 Naha to Malita

Miss Nellie says this is acceptable, but that you owe her one. :)

Congratulations on the finish! :very_drunk:
