Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Burma - Tavoy & Mergui - Completion of the Burmese coastline, as far SE as the Thai border

Burma-Tavoy/Mergui Scenery for CFS2 by UncleTgt

View attachment 200628

This is a reworking of the stock sceneries for the region of Burma, heading south from Ye to the Thai border at Victoria Point. This is the latest in a series of scenery releases, to expand & build on this area to cover more of the Burma theatre of operations.

It is designed for use with Rhumbas mesh, but as it's outside the SWPTO, should work well in a stock mesh install too.

Thanks for the (few) kind comments.

Unfortunately this southern area saw precious little combat activity after the first few days of the Jap invasion, but sometimes it's just nice to fly between points & admire the scale & beauty of these places - & there are a few easter egg locations.

I had no idea there were so many tin & wolfram mining locations along this part of the coast until I started looking at gsl creation...

Mostly I just fly around, low and slow to look at this amazing scenery. Just beautifully done!

Howdy Uncle. I need some help. I followed your installation instructions, but the scenery is a patchwork of 'bland' blues greens and oily grey blocks. What am I missing and/or doing wrong? I have attached a in flight screenshot near Bokpyin, and images showing my scenery listing. Thank you for your help!

Usually this means the shoreline filenames in

CFS2/TEXTURE

&

CFS2/SCENEDB/WORLD/TEXTURE

don't match

There is also a small coral reef off Bokpyin, so it could also be a missing "coral" or "lagon1" bmp?

The shorelines in this area have all been used in my previous CBI scenery releases, there's nothing new there texture-wise.

Did you copy the contents of the zip's SCENEDB & TEXTURE folders into your CFS2 install?

Hi Browncoat,

I'm not sure how critical it is, but the CBI Reefs should be above the CBI Deltas.

Hello Uncle,

I did make sure to copy the contents of the zip's SCENEDB and Texture folders into my CF2 CBI install, and I copied the world/scenebd/texture files and copied them in to the main Texture folder. I didn't find any files that were 'new', 'missing' or having a different size or timestamp.

I noted that when I turned off Burma_UT, the square bland blocks went away, but the terrain still looked messed-up stock terrain.

Hello Kdriver,

I appreciate the check and made the change, but it had not effect on what I was seeing.

Browncoat, I've just checked back through all the G2K asm files & think I've found the issue.

For the sandy beaches of the Mergui archipeligo I made use of Maskriders PT-waveless-shore1.bmp, but didn't include it in my upload.

For old hand recycling an existing install, you won't notice as you'll already have a copy of this. But for a fresh install šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

I've attached a copy here. Let me know if this resolves the issue & I'll update the upload accordingly.

Sorry for missing that one!!:173go1:

Howdy Uncle,

I found another issue in my install with Burma_UT. Flew the tour mission for gsl_Mergui_viewer, and noticed the island at N11* 54.18' E98*15.59' were again the bland quilt patchwork of non-textures. Are you able to look at the G2K asm files for this area to see if there is another case of a missing Maskrider texture? I appreciate your help.

Browncoat, you got me again!!!

In the Mergui_E_8_fixed.bgl I found 2 instances of PT-waveless-shore2...

Rather than spend hours finding & replacing them, it's easiest to add PT_waveless-shore2.bmp to your Burma_UT/texture folder.

For completeness I'd also add them to the

CFS2/Texture & CFS2/SCENEDB/WORLD/Texture folders
