Chinese version of the Eurofighter. They wouldn't copy a western design - would they? :icon_twi:
Yet another reason why the USAF needs many many more F-22's!!! (even though the Chinese are supposedly our friends now - kinda like the Russians are :isadizzy:).

Some how I don't think the F-22 will be all it craked up to be when it really get out there. No simulated combat exercises will replace the real thing.
 
Wasnt it like 10 years ago that they were a race of people who in the heart of Beizing, the most valued part of a family household was water. They burned college students (kids) at the stake in a collesium because they wanted more freedom.

And now they have put people in space, shot down a satelite, and launched in quick fashion, a duplicate of the EuroFighter???

What happened?

The Lavi was developed with $1.8 billion in U.S. aid to Israel. Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld in 2005 sharply restricted U.S. military technology sharing with Israel over concerns about Israeli-Chinese military cooperation.

The Israeli-Chinese J-10 cooperation involved "decades"-long exchanges between Russian, Israeli and Chinese aircraft developers, the magazine stated, quoting Russians involved in the program. The cooperation included extensive design and performance modeling, wind-tunnel testing and advanced aerodynamic design input.

Richard Fisher, a specialist on China's military with the International Assessment and Strategy Center, said the J-10-Lavi cooperation "confirms the need for continued American vigilance to prevent military technology sales to China from Israel or any other ally."

"This is now a tragedy for the people of Israel and the United States, given the high chances that China will sell the J-10 to Iran," he said, adding that Israel should fully disclose the extent of military cooperation with China, "a country that aids the enemies of Israel, and threatens America and many of its allies."

*I* wont tell you that aerodynamic and physics are the same over the whole planet... you already know that.

but just as much as the Laavi nose and air intake layout scream F-16! F16!, so does the Rear end of this one scream LAAVI! LAAVI!.

I couls also display you a fin of the J-10 and an F-16 side by side. the roots and basic layout are the same.

The only EF-2000 / Typhoon Element that Commie fighter has, seems to be the square air intake.

Old news. This was a hot topic of conversation back in the late 90's.
Back in the 90's I saw a satellite photo of Chengdu where there was a AN-124 on the ramp that had flown in from Israel which got the attention of the NRO staff. Some time later, the IAI Lavi 2-Seater appeared on the ramp fully assembled. While the J-10 is far more advanced than any previous design China has turned out, it is nothing that stands out compared to the latest Western designs and modern avionics. The IAI Lavi certainly had a major impact on the J-10's design but they are in fact structurally very different aircraft housing the AL-31FN Turbofan and larger radar set(lot of debate about what radar set is actually in the J-10). The Chinese have done well with this project and are actually well on the way with some other more advanced designs in the pipeline. I wouldn't get overly concerned over the J-10. Had it appeared 30 years ago in mass numbers then yes, I would've been concerned!
