Close down problems "today"

Unable to close MSFS 2020 after today's update unless I use "Task Manager" !!
Anybody else in the same boat ?

Regards

yes - it does not completely close here either - task manager is required to finish the job since the update today

Reading the official forums, it seems like this is mostly affecting people with the MS Store version of the sim. I don't see many reports from Steam users. I'm on the Steam version, installed the mandatory update, and have had no trouble with shutdowns. Also, some are reporting that changes in Marketplace content (adding, removing, or updating) have preceded the shutdown issues. According to reports there, people are experiencing it with fresh installs and empty community folders, so it doesn't seem to be addon-related.

You can go to the bug reporting section in the official forums and upvote the topic. Maybe that will prompt a bit of attention.

I've seen in another forum that this "non-closing" issue could also be related to the latest version of the NVidia video drivers, and that reverting to a previous version might solve the issue.

Just installed the update, including the ones in the content manager and it closed down as it should. I'm on the Steam version by the way.

Same... I may go in and grab the latest Studio drivers soon though. I don't use the Game Ready files, simply because I don't want Nvidia trying to "optimize" my setup.

Then it's clearly not the drivers, but rather the M$ store version. Steam users don't seem to have this issue.

Yep no problems on Steam version here when I close the sim.
However, I close it either with ALT+F4 or with the cross button in windowed mode. I haven't tried to close it using the menu items...

Last time I opened the Sim was Tuesday evening, but I've never had an issue with the application hanging like that. I'm on the Store version too.

I thought it may be because I had my Octavi keypad or Add-On Linker running in the background but have eliminated those as a cause. Still the only way to close the Sim is via the Task Manager.

If I Alt+F4 out of the sim, I don't even have the option to use the Task Manager. I just get a message that the sim is still running when I try to restart. The only way to get back in at that point is to reboot the box.
