• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Community A-4 E-C Skyhawk Update

I don't have DCS, but I hope this project does not cross-polenate the A-4C and A-4E/F. There were many differences and modifications.

The basic A-4C had a J-65 engine, flush intakes, 2 wing stations, short radar nose and a windshield wiper.

The basic A-4E had a J-52-P6 engine, intake splitter plates, a longer radar nose and bleed air rain removal, 4 wing stations.

The basic F had the ECM hump, a J-52-P8 engine but otherwise similar to the E. many backfits were made to all these airplanes during the Vietnam era, I have flown many of them. They all had tanker capability by carrying the standard D-704 buddy store on the centerline rack.

The F and TA-4F introduced nose wheel steering, but it caused several problems and was soon deactivated. Differential brake steering was more than adequate anyway.

2.1.1 is in the pipe.
