Cruise missle test - Awesome video

Check this out. It's a test of a new guidance for cruise missles. A destroyer fires the missle and it's terminal guidance is handed off to an F/A-18 whose WSO guides it in manually. Watch as the missile punches right through a shipping container on the target ship. Select the highest resolution and go full screen and enjoy. It's an awesome video. All I could say was, "DAAAYYYUUM!"

Wheres the link to the video?

One would hope that you don't have to stay within 500 meters of the missile to guide it... That's worse than the guidance system for early Sparrows.

Yeah...what's awesome here? Makes a good show of accuracy, but given the long-range standoff, fire and forget capabilities of a modern Tomahawk or the airborne AGM-84A Harpoon, what's the value of this retro weapon? What happens to the missile if the chase plane is taken out by air defenses? With the lethality and kill radii of current air defenses, if we have to send a pilot to guide this thing home against a highly defended target, its a failed mission before the launch. May as well send the pilot in with dumb bombs if he/she has to get that close to the target.
