and so are the vicious wrecks....red flag yesterday during the ARCA race..and after that a 6 X barrel roll by a single car...that threw the entire engine out of the car..

today in Nationwide...more of the same...two big wrecks in the closing laps.......currently under red flag...

i sure hope eric is ok...that was a visious hit....

they said he was talking...but didn't hear anything about his condition after they airlifted him out..

oh...and how bout Danica using the ol front bumper on Hornish....after the race was over...

it will be interesting to see if NASCAR does anything about that..

They better, she's just a spoiled little brat, you know what they say, paybacks are a bitch.

Hey All,

Quite the finish! I've always believed the best driver Gibbs has is Joey Logano. He should not be the "test car" driver.

I don't for one minute think the weak excuse Hornish put up about a flat right front is valid. That car did not do a hard right and drove well after coming off the wall. Look at the video - right at the start the cars are parked after the race and it looks to me like somehow Hornish right front just "aired up" magically. Danica did just fine - if anything Sam needs a fine for actions detrimental... lying.

Also I loved how hard Harv pushed Front Row Joe so Kyle could not get in front of him and get pushed to the win. I doubt Joe would have "pulled" the move Joey did to win. You notice there was no interview with Kyle after the race ... Hmmm...

Tomorrow should be interesting.

Personally,
I liked the 2 car groups better than the crash-packs....

Oh well...

ya know...i think i do too...

however....they still are using 2 car groups...one of the talking heads called it 'a hybrid pack'....

yeah...happy harvey also didn't seem to mind Kyle pushing him to the front earlier in the race..

was an exciting race to watch tho...as was the ARCA race yesterday....Larry Mac's son won with a similar move as Logano today...

Hey All,

Video is here http://www.nascar.com/video/post-race/highlights/120505/nns-tal-high-five/index.html It is the one called tempers flare... Look at Sam's right front tire!

I like this style of racing as it is very interesting and very strategic - which racing should be. It makes racing about the man not just the machine - you have to agree with Juan Pablo Montoya when he said in IndyCar or F1 you just get in the best car and go out and win.

Now on the restrictor plate tracks it is just like in the days of Petty and Pearson if you are the car in front you are maybe a sitting duck as the "slingshot move" will get ya. Remember the 1974 Firecracker 400 when Pearson realized this and in the lead pretended his car died slowing and Richard sailed on by then Pearson stepped on the gas caught Petty and slingshot by him to win. To this day Petty is mad about being suckered by that. To me it is the essence of racing. It is as beautiful a move as I have ever seen on a racetrack because it came from the mind not just muscle reaction.

I think it is very much the same now as the pusher has the advantage coming off 4 - if he can time it right - unless the pusher has no intention of winning - willing to settle for second not risking a crash.

An edit:
yeah...happy harvey also didn't seem to mind Kyle pushing him to the front earlier in the race..

What happens early in a race like this is pretty irrelevant - Harv knows history and knows where he wants to be at the end - in this case he wanted to be pushing Nemechek in turn 4 so he could do a Joey. It just didn't work out.

well one thing is for sure...leading on the last lap out of turn 4 aint the place to be...:kilroy:

It was today. Half the field wiped out, is that what the majority of fans want??? :isadizzy:

yeah apparently so....they keep saying they are making all these changes because 'it's what the fans want'........really? what fans?

i mean how do i get on the list of fans that convince NASCAR to make changes???
