Do FS9 textures degrade performance in FSX?

My rig usually runs the sim well, but I´ve noticed crazy slowdowns after installing FS9 libraries, such as Lens EZ Scenery. Some other FSX have really poor performance too, which require installing certain object libraries.

I use a separate folder for object library packages, luckily.

It's not so much the textures, it's the objects themselves. objects compiled thru the FSX SDK are optimized for FSX, whereas objects that were compiled thru the FS9 compiler are optimized for FS9 and there have been many code changes between the two. for simple objects that you just place a few, it's not a big deal, but when you have more detailed objects and lots of them, you will notice the hit.

When in doubt, just stick with native FSX objects and try to get developers to recompile their libraries when possible.
