Douglas C-53D-DO Skytrain NC 19912 C/n 11716 Serial Number 42-68789, originally delivered to the U. S. Army Air Forces on 25 May 1943. It was transferred to the Reconstruction Finance Corporation on 18 Dec 1944. Pan Am leased it in 1945, and later bought it outright in August 1949, convered to a DC-3 and assigning it to PANAGRA.
