Dx10 rain issue.

Oh, here's the proof:ernae: I've kept away from rain since using Dx10 and there's some interesting reflections on the wet runway.

It looks like the reflections are of clouds that would be above, which must be a world reflection being mirrored onto the surface.

Very cool!

Roger,

It may be my cards or GPU issues, but I hate DX10 in FSX and much prefer just good old DX9. My eyes are not the best, but the best I see out of DX10 is the water reflections. But I get them nonetheless in DX9 too. I still cannot bare those flickering taxiway marking that I get in DX10. I can't say as that it has any frame hit though, I get a pretty constant 20 fps in either mode. But the ability to fly a lot of my ported over planes and most particularly, those flickering markings mode me to remain in DX9.

Caz,
Dx10 is less than half done in FsX and unsupported by MS. But because my sim runs smoother in Dx10 I've stuck with it and because FsXI will most likely be unable to support Fs9 objects in any way I decided to make the break. In Dx9 I get tiny little jumps probably imperceptible to most but I don't get that at all in Dx10.

Hi Roger
Ive found that if you have the same res on your desktop and sim these micro pause's stop in dx9 mode.

Stranger all along, I have an LCD native at 1280 X 1024 also and have no such problem in DX9. That may be my problems in the markings with DX10, however.

You know Wozza I really do miss the look of Fs on a good crt but it the length of the tube that is annoying when you've got used to a 1 inch thick LCD:costumes:

Yeah and not to mention the weight,I had to move my second 21inch to the missus computer room(yeah I had 2 21 inch side by side, made the room toasty warm during winter ;) )
I just about broke my poor old back lifting it up of the bench :D
Cheers
