Eastern Front

SOH-CM-2025
Hey !
You should know that the simulation concerning "the Eastern Front" that I had created completely screwed up because of Windows 10. It’s all over!:wiggle:+
Maybe we will do it by another method. See you soon!

If you ever get it working, just for fun, I cobbled together a splash screen for it if you like.

Note: As always, I'm just pulling stuff willy-nilly from all over the web when I do this. I can't imagine anyone getting worked up if an image of theirs is used in a splash screen for a 20+ year old sim where no one involved is making any money!

Hey! Thank you! I have a splash screen about "Normandie-Niemen" who is the central point of the "Eastern Front"

This is a "Ghost in the Machine" repaint of the ETO AvHistory Yak-9 as plane #14 flown by Frenchman Marcel Lefèvre.

In May 1944, returning from a mission over Vitebsk, Marcel Lefèvre’s Yak-9 hemorrhaged fuel and burst into flames a few feet off the ground; he died in a Moscow hospital a month later. (He survives in spirit as a host figure at the Normandie regiment museum in his home town, Les Andelys.)

The Normandie-Niemen regiment left quite a record in its wake: 5,240 missions flown, 273 confirmed kills, 37 probable, and 45 enemy aircraft damaged. Of the 96 pilots who went to Russia, 46 did not return. Jacques André and Marcel Lefèvre were posthumously named Heroes of the Soviet Union. Marcel Albert, and Roland de La Poype were also named Heroes of the Soviet Union.

Hey!
One of the multi-problems encountered with no start-up, no canopy opening and these "floating" buildings on Dopienen air base.

Hope you get it sorted out, with some help if need be. Would absolutely love to to see this Theater of Operation come to life. It would give IL-3 '46 a run for it's money ! Regards, Scott

Thank you Scott! I am disappointed because it worked relatively well on WindowsXP.

Whoops! Forgot the shadows on the photos. Corrected below:

It was fun to make but challenging. To use it in a landscape format, I had to squash the propaganda poster a bit and move the wording on it, but I think it works.
