Had it on preorder so the mailman delivered it today and I just finished the first two hour session.
First impressions: It looks awesome, a giant leap ahead of GTR2/rFactor and even better than DiRT2 and NFS:Shift. Sounds good too. Easy to start driving, but not easy to master! It is not a true sim like GTR2/rFactor but it's not as 'arcady' as NFS:Shift either. So far I'm doing pretty well at the second-hardest difficulty level, and I even managed to get a Renault on Pole at monaco in my first race.
The first few gripes: You can only do a single GP with a real driver or a full career (3,5 or even 7 seasons!) under your own name, but not a single 2010 season with your own name and the car of your choice.
The rules regarding cutting corners and getting off the track are too strict; run wide and you'll lose your lap time. It even happens when you run into the gravel and if your current lap is already invalid and you run wide again your next lap will be declared invalid too! I did six laps at Melbourne in the rain and never set a laptime. Cockpit view is pointless because of this because you can not see the tyres and the apex of the corner. Did most of my driving from the 'T-cam' view so far.
There are tweaking options for the set-up of the car but not as many are the real sims. There are six or so default set-ups to choose from but you can set things like brake balance, shocks, springs etc, yourself. No data aquisition though so that make it a bit trickier.
However, when you get in the car and start driving it looks, feels, and sounds like you are inside an F1 car and it is a thrill to get it right on the track!
Some uneditted screenshots; full detail, framerate about sixty.

Force India at Melbourne in the wet:
Screenshots do not do the rainy weather justice! Driving the car might be a bit too easy in the wet, but it looks stunning!
