Both HRT cars did not participate in qaulifying and most likely will not be allowed to race as they failed to set fast times in the practice sessions as well. A problem was found on Karrthikeyan's car and Liuzzi crashed his car in this mornings session.

Big hit for Perez!
He's looking better with each race.
Mega effort by Alonso to get that 'Truck' up in P4.
:applause:

It will be interesting with Schumacher in P5...

Button could take the lead in turn one, but his teammate will be stuck behind Schumi and both Ferrari's. If Red Bull's strategy is good Vettel could make it 5 out of 6 this season but it still is Monaco and those walls are close..

Hamilton lost his Q3 time because he cut a chicane and will have to start from P10 (Which will most likely become P9 because Perez will not race).

Both HRT cars have been allowed by the stewards to race (Don't know why..).

Shame about Perez' crash...

I believe that this was shaping up to be the most exciting Q1 of the season, each team leaving it to the last to put in that banzai lap.
Ferrari must've had a massive pep talk, both drivers looked pretty lively, and I suspect Alonso was eyeing pole.

But as you say, it's Monaco, with all that entails...the strangest people have won here over the years.

Well that was an exciting race! :applause:

I love Monaco. And yes, it was a great race, with Lewis Hamilton trying to take out half the field. But in the end the outcome was as predictable as all have been. Boy F-1 sure know how to go from super fast thought-out pit stops to nothing but pure confusion in a short time. What is it with the pit stops in F-1 these days?

Caz

Another epic drive by Alonso.:applause:
Monaco remains a totally stupid venue for a race but that's typical 'Eff Wun' mentality.
Louise was off today, just a bit too much desperation and Schumacher demonstrated why he should never have returned.
Nico must love sharing a garage with him.
:173go1:
Caz, I believe the coms were screwed up by the building clutter around the circuit, another reason why it remains a crap venue IMHO.

and possibly for button as well, would have been intresting to see what would have happened if the race haddnt been red flaged. I see hamiltons got all stroppy about the stewards giveing him (deserved i reckon) penalties

It was Alonso's race

Surely this was the worst weekend of Lewis Hamilton's F1 career...

Q3 red-flagged before he gets in his run.
Then penalised to the back of the 1st ten for cutting the chicane.
Then Schumacher drives over him
Then he breaks the car on the hairpin in a daft overtake move
Salt in the wound, a drive-through penalty for it.
And then someone drove over his rear wing.
Sixth place was well beyond what he might've expected (thanks to the processional finish), especially when he got handed another 20-second penalty for crashing Maldonado.

Hope they all had a good post-race party, seems to be what Monaco's all about.

Edit: Those huge fragile shovels on the front of the cars are a real liability aren't they?
Looking back at some of the older race clips, those daring *diving round the inside* used to work - because they didn't have those silly little sticky-out bits.

the wings dont stick out past the wheel base though do they??

What bugs me with lewis is the "i'm quicker, MOVE!" mentallity, fair enough when their back markers, but when its for track position, of course hes not gonna move ya numpty!

The wing is just inside the front wheel track (there will be an FIA Rule about that) but they are so far forward that any touch will remove one or more of those flimsy little vanes that stick out all over the show.

I believe also the driver can't see the front of the car
