Here are a selection of screenshots from a recent scenic/photographic flight in the Texas Flying Legends FG-1D Corsair.

The aircraft was restored to mimic a 1944-era Pacific Theatre Corsair, with the earlier braced canopy and accurate tri-color paint scheme. Along the base of the starboard canopy rail is a tribute to Charles "Slim" Lindbergh, who flew the Corsair (and P-38) in combat in the Pacific.

Canopy open, cowl flaps in trail, oil cooler doors open, rudder trimmed 5-degrees right, and tailwheel locked.

52-in MP, 2700 RPM, the aircraft gathers speed very quickly and after easing off a little forward pressure on the stick, flies off on its own.

Red doped fabric covers the shell ejector chutes and gun ports (just like the real aircraft, there are holes through the gun port fabric patches, as if the guns have been fired).

I found this guy up barnstorming around too, and joined up for a while.

(I find the peaked fall colors, present in the sim already, a bit disturbing.)

You mean like this?

It hasn't had those (fictitious) markings for the past two years. That was a decal from the Disney movie "Planes" (made up of a piston and wrenches) that was added temporarily for the 2013 airshow season (the year the movie came out). I never liked it, and fortunately by the end of 2015 TFL finally removed them, and the aircraft looks now again as it did prior to 2013, the same as in my screenshots.

This is not a new repaint - I released it back in 2014, and if you download the repaint, you'll find that there are four different versions of the repaint included, covering the way in which the aircraft has looked since the restoration was originally completed in 2010 (back then, it was known as "Kathleen" (named after the wife of the gentleman who originally started the restoration) and also had the second owner's name under the canopy on the left-side (who purchased the aircraft while it was still under restoration) - markings that were removed after it was sold to the Texas Flying Legends Museum). I personally keep versions of both how it looks now and how it looked as "Kathleen" (when it won WWII Grand Champion at Oshkosh in 2010) installed as two different menu options.
