Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Flatten tool "FSTflatten"

I have installed the flatten tool "FSTflatten". It allows to flatten aeras almost "surgically". It could be done in every kind of outlines (rectangles, octagons or even circles). Unfortunatley the tool installed doesn't work correctly anymore. So my question: does somebody has the complete tool, so that I could install it again. There are still some links for this tool done by Steve Greenwood, but they are all death.

Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

Should that be a contribution to my question?

Bernard
frankly speaking, your query is important and indeed at none of Steve Greenwood's three archived sites dating as far back as 2002/3 and until 2021, have the files in the resources section been archived by the wayback machine, and apparently it was only ever available at flightsim, and which appears to be no longer with us; so indeed much thanks to @AndyG43 for sharing the file

cheers!

Thanks Andy. I finally have been able to find the trick allowing to red your reply. It's effective the file I searched for. Unfortunately i didn't saved this tool in my ethernal backup like I did for other "vital" ones.

referencing the discussion in this thread / post https://sim-outhouse.org/sohforums/...opean-alps-by-alain-ragot.167677/post-1441175 and per my post above, while the wayback machine at web archive may not have archived Steve Greenwood's FSTUtilities @leuen sought, Steve's valuable archived remarks, especially pertaining to mesh in MSFS2004 are regardless, worth a read

and in the context of this thread, namely flattens - a brief read with respect to the aforesaid utility FSTFlattens found in Steve Greenwood's FSTUtilities as provided by @AndyG43 https://web.archive.org/web/20200919000850/http://fst.stevemg.net/flatten.shtml

per above links, it is self-evident that the resources section in none of the three above sites of Steve Greenwood / FS-Traveler were archived; pity really
