Fokker scourge!!!

Still work in progress, but as base for some additional repaints I have done a basic D-VII repaint in the standard finish used for for the Fokkers which were built by Albatross (AOW).

I don't think I will upload this repaint as it is quite boring, but I have some more interesting version planned.

Cazzie pushed me to get redo the lozenge pattern to get is as close as real as I can get.

I think I did it. I know you and I have been working on getting the lozenge bolts applied as they were on the original D.VII


I ran off a scan of the Albatros pattern for bolt placements and scale them to the SG Fokker paint sheets. and made bolts from the Miller 4-color Lozenge for the upper and lower patterns

Upper wing top pattern and bolt placement. After I align the bolts, I size the full Lozenge sheet to the correct bolt width in pixels, Select the area with the Polygonal Lasso Tool, and copy the full sheet and paste it into the area selected, then move it until it aligns with the bolt. The bolt and pattern are unchecked one done.

Lower wing and tail bolt placement.

The were no bolt pattern for the wing gear or the vertical tail. I had to sugnuificantly downsize the sheet for the wing gear to make the lozenge patterns the same size and overall. I also had to dowsize those on the horizontal tail and elevators. The same size bolt and sheet as my default worked on the wings, fuselage, and vertical tail.

It's nice to research and study these things, I have spent the better part of my spare time the past two days working this out. Lots of use of the Free Transform Tool.:isadizzy:

Now I can add the blue back to the horizontal and vertical tails, and wing gear back and get on with the completion of Jungwirth's OAW D.VII.

I tried that as well but I decided to go for bands which I shifted like in the Anthology data file.

Really great work. I'm looking forward to see the end effect as this is most problably the best you can get.

I used the bands Huub, the bolts are only for the in the placement and alignment of the bands.

The pattern and bolts are all remove (unchecked in the final paint.

here's what a band looks like after it has been pasted into a highlighted lozenge wing area and aligned. I do so with the other bands, then the aileron.

The ailerons and the elevayors were the y hardest to get right, because Stuart's model does not exaclt line up with he plans. But a little nudge and erasing got me to an end stage I was happy with.

The jungwirth D.VII will be sent up this morn, but it only has Lozenge on the main wings. That means I'll have to do another Fokker paint to display all Lozenge overlay.

I did the same with the fuselage, but it is impossible to align due to the way Stuart's upper fuselage stretches the paint.
