FS9 hang up's

Hi.
I have a Gateway GT5428 Vista Pentium 4 D/core at 3.20, 4 gigs DIMM ram at 667Mhz a Visiontek Radeon HD 3870 Video Card - 512MB GDDR4, PCI Express 2.0, CrossFireX Ready, Dual DVI, HDTV, HDMI Support, Video Card.

I know this stuff is not the top of the line stuff, but when panning left or right inside the cockpit or outside Flight Sim will hang up for a sec or two. I don't have a lot of add-on's, just Ground Environment Pro, Flight Environment and FS Gen land class. Has anyone had experience with this?

My guess would be that it is your CPU and RAM. The Pentium D is an old processor and not nearly as fast or efficient as the Core2Duo's. Your front side bus and RAM at 667 MHz is also a bit slow.

Hey Kenny,

Have you applied any of the terrain tweaks to the FS9.cfg? I'm at work now but could post them when I get back to the house, if you haven't.

Thanks,
Odie

TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000

TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5
TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1

Hope this helps
