• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

why do i post this you ask?..well he was a close friend to my father and my family.but why this is on SOH and in the newshawks,if it weren't for George, the F-22 project would have been shelved,George put a presentation together, went to Washington DC and lobbied hard to keep the program alive and we ended up with the finished F-22.there is much more to this story..but i wont bother,as most people who hear it say theyeve never heard of such a thing happening...it did and George was able to retire....kickbacks? i don't know..but he owns..ok owned,, Michigan Bluff California. he had offered to allow me to park my RV on his property and live there rent free, but i had begun to need to much help from others, and i politely turn the offer down..i wished i hadnt...if anyone hear remembers the videos of the ANG C-130s making retardant drops on the fire just days before the rim fire at Yosemite, this fire..i think it was called the forresthill fire..i dont recall..but it roared through georges property in a hurry.

an update on George,he was a long time employee of Lockheed Martin,he was a propulsion specialist,he designed the systems for the SR-71,F/A-18 and the B2.he held a doctorate in aircraft propulsion.and at the end of his career he was "specialist to the US Attorney's Office" ,he was assigned to that post and lived in DC for many years as i understand it,the funeral this morning was like a whos who of Lockheed Martin employees and many of his friends from the famous "Skunks Works".
