• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

How can you not like this?

I do like it. I was also aware of everything it said, and I received no special physics type eduction. I learned it in High School.

Not sure who's been lying to whom....

However, the most important thing stated was that your math didn't have to be perfect.....it just has to be good enough.

Thanks for that Paul. My wife is a teacher with over 30 years experience. Some of the stories she comes home with are just stupefying when it comes to teaching the basics.

"Good enough" math has kept me solvent with money in the bank. I like to call my math "Dave's math." I have some original strategies (thanks to the good sisters at St. Theresa elementary) to get "close enough." I would have probably paid more attention in math classes had the subject been couched in a military theme. Mils scale range finding, D-KAV, demo and wind deflection formulae would have been oh so much more interesting than the text book problems!

While I enjoy math and physics to a point I admit that I'm a bit limited at the upper end of the scale on them even though I try. What I didn't learn in any of my classes and what is absolutely stupefying to me is Quantum Physics/Mechanics:
