• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

  • Server side Maintenance is done. We still have an update to the forum software to run but that one will have to wait for a better time.

Hi Don,

yes I stumbled on the failing uninstall and the many registry entries as well. Started to delete them manually too... until I discovered how many there are....
Not sure IF I have to remove them all, but it sure as heck is not 'neat' to leave them all in there :)

Mind you, the FSX uninstaller isn't perfect either...... nor are my own. So who am I to tell anybody.....

3 days and $119 down the road...... I'll take a break for now !

I found out last night after I posted that you do not have to remove them all. I did a couple more, then tried to install again. It worked!! I don't know which item the installer was looking for, but it was one of the last ones I did. I was using the search/find next system and would delete each key as it was found. Sometimes I would start from the top, sometimes from the bottom, so I have no idea which, but it was in the middle, somewhere. And, it was definitely a scenery item, but who knows which. I actually wanted to get the error one more time so I could take a screen shot to help remember it, but even that went wrong!! :frown-new:

Anyway, 1.4 is now installed, and I am doing a defrag, before firing it up to see if it works. If it does, I'll order V2 soon.
